Meowmory Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Meowmory is provided by Native Labs ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains how the Meowmory app and its Share Extension, widgets, and Shortcuts handle information.

Meowmory helps you save links, notes, photos, and files, then rediscover them through Daily Recall. You do not need to create an account with us. Apple services, including iCloud and App Store purchases, use your Apple Account.

Information stored to provide the app

Meowmory stores the information you choose to save, including:

  • Links and their URLs, titles, preview images, and text shared with them.
  • Notes, captions, selected photos, imported files, filenames, and generated thumbnails.
  • Collections and the items in them.
  • Saved dates, reminder dates, item status, recall decisions and history, and streak activity.
  • App preferences, recent searches, and information needed to maintain your library.

Selected photos and files may contain their own embedded metadata, such as creation dates, authors, or location information. Meowmory stores imported originals and does not promise to remove this metadata.

The app uses a randomly generated, app-specific device identifier to associate changes with a device. This is not an advertising identifier or a hardware serial number. Device names, platform information, reminder settings, and last-seen timestamps may also be stored to show which of your devices can remind you and to support synchronization.

This information supports saving, displaying, searching, organizing, reminding, and synchronizing your content. Your library and search index are maintained locally; searches are not sent to a developer-operated search service.

Local storage and extensions

Your library, originals, thumbnails, and preferences are stored on your device. Meowmory uses an Apple App Group container to share selected data between the app, its Share Extension, widgets, and Shortcuts. This includes pending saves or actions, widget summaries, selected previews, and subscription access information. This container is for Meowmory's components and is not a public sharing area.

Local processing includes search indexing, duplicate detection, preview generation, Daily Recall selection, and activity summaries.

iCloud synchronization

iCloud sync is enabled by default when available. When sync runs, Meowmory transfers library content and synchronization information to your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit service. This can include saved links, note text, photos, files, thumbnails, collections, recall history, shared preferences, device information, and deletion records.

You can turn iCloud sync off in Meowmory Settings. The change applies the next time you open the app. Turning sync off does not itself delete copies already stored in iCloud or on other devices.

Meowmory does not send your library to a developer-operated storage server. Apple operates iCloud, and its processing and security are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud's security information. We do not promise a separate Meowmory end-to-end encryption system.

Saved links and external websites

After you save a link, Meowmory may automatically request its title and preview image using Apple's LinkPresentation framework. Failed or pending previews may be retried later.

These requests can contact the linked website, redirects, or resources used to supply the preview. Those services may receive the requested URL and network information such as your IP address and may process it under their own policies. Opening a saved link also takes you to an external website through the system's URL-opening mechanism.

Your notes and other library items are not deliberately attached to these preview requests. Saving a link is not the same as keeping the URL entirely offline.

Photos, files, clipboard, and permissions

Meowmory imports photos and files that you select or explicitly share with it. It does not scan your photo library in the background. Clipboard content is read when you use an action such as Paste or Save clipboard; the app may check whether a link is available without reading its contents.

The app does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or device location for its current features. Location information may still be present inside photos or files that you choose to import.

Reminders and widgets

Daily and scheduled-item reminders are scheduled locally using Apple's notification system. Alert permission is requested when you choose to turn on reminders during onboarding or in Settings. Daily reminders and scheduled-item reminders have separate controls.

The main app also uses Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple's push notification service for remote notifications. Firebase registers an installation identifier for delivery; notification payloads can include a destination within the app. Visible remote notifications use the same system alert permission. APNs credentials must be configured before remote delivery is available.

Apple's push notification service is also used for background iCloud change notifications. This is separate from the visible reminders you configure.

Widgets and notifications may display saved content according to your settings and the system's privacy controls. Meowmory includes a Show titles when locked setting. Review it and your device's notification and widget settings before displaying sensitive content on shared or visible screens. Widget content is supplied from a local cache rather than fetched directly from a developer-operated service.

Subscriptions and payments

Apple processes Meowmory Pro purchases, payments, renewals, and refunds. The app uses StoreKit to access and verify information such as the purchased product, subscription status, trial status, expiration, and revocation so it can provide the correct access.

We do not receive your payment card details through the app. Apple may provide developer sales and financial reports through its services. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by its own terms and privacy policy.

Advertising, tracking, and diagnostics

Meowmory uses Google Firebase Analytics to measure screen usage and Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes. Screen events contain fixed screen names and classes. Custom crash breadcrumbs contain fixed screen names. We do not attach your saved titles, notes, URLs, files, item identifiers or search terms to those events or custom logs. Firebase SDKs also process installation identifiers, app and device information, usage information and crash diagnostics needed for these services.

Analytics associates usage events with an app-instance identifier. It also derives general location from masked IP addresses and can measure in-app purchase and subscription events through StoreKit, including product identifiers, names and prices. This does not give us your payment card details or Apple Account credentials. Firebase Messaging also processes delivery registration and SDK metadata for push functionality and service analytics.

Analytics identity support is not included; vendor-identifier collection and advertising personalization signals are disabled. Your saved content is not sold or used for targeted advertising. Firebase processing is described in Firebase privacy information. The app may also write operational errors to system diagnostic logs; Apple handles its diagnostics under its own settings and policies.

Contacting us

If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain necessary support records. Email delivery and storage are handled by the email services used for the correspondence.

Please send only what is needed. Do not send your Apple Account password, payment card details, or an entire library export unless it is necessary and you choose to share it. You may contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to records we must retain for legal or operational reasons.

Export, deletion, and retention

You can access Privacy & data in the app to export available data as a ZIP archive or use Delete all data. These controls remain available when your Pro subscription is inactive. Exports contain library information and available original files; the manifest identifies originals that are unavailable on the current device. Copies you export or share are outside Meowmory's deletion controls.

Deleting an individual item removes it from the visible library and creates a synchronization deletion record. Individual deletion does not immediately erase every saved field from storage; a retained record can still contain that item's saved content and metadata.

Delete all data clears saved titles and note text, removes local originals and thumbnails, clears content history and recent searches, and clears extension caches and pending staged content. Synchronization markers and some associated metadata, including item identifiers, saved URLs, and timestamps, can remain to propagate deletions and prevent deleted items from returning. Device records, app preferences, and synchronization configuration can also remain. The current implementation does not specify an automatic purge deadline for these retained records.

Deletion changes reach other devices when iCloud sync is enabled and available. Offline devices may retain copies until they synchronize. Turning off sync or uninstalling the app is not a request to erase all iCloud data. Apple-managed backups and records are subject to Apple's controls and retention practices.

Deleting data or uninstalling Meowmory does not cancel an App Store subscription. Manage subscriptions separately through Apple.

Security and your choices

Meowmory relies on Apple's app storage, platform protections, CloudKit, and StoreKit for the features described above. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your devices and Apple Account, and keep separate copies of important originals.

You can choose which content to import, change reminder and display preferences, turn off iCloud sync, export available data, delete data, and manage your Apple subscription. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us about information you have provided directly to us; Apple manages requests relating to its own account, billing, and cloud services.

Children

Meowmory is a general-purpose app and is not specifically directed to children. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us through support, contact us so we can review and address the request.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the app or its practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
